Pure Kerala Handloom Kasavu Set Mundu with Kasavu (Zari) Kara & Kasavu (Zari) Border
Timeless Elegance from the Traditional Heritage Weaving Village of Balaramapuram
Experience the understated elegance of Kerala’s timeless weaving tradition with this Pure Balaramapuram Kasavu Set Mundu, meticulously handwoven by traditional artisans from our historic weaving unit in Balaramapuram, Kerala. Crafted using age-old techniques passed down through generations, this classic attire beautifully reflects the authenticity, purity, and cultural heritage of Kerala handloom weaving.
Woven by skilled weavers using traditional pit looms (Kuzhithari), this Kasavu ensemble represents the most respected weaving tradition of Kerala. These heritage looms allow artisans to create intricate and refined Kasavu (Zari) work, including traditional styles such as the Chutty Kara, a design historically associated with the royal heritage of the Travancore.
This exquisite set mundu features a rich 4-inch Gold Kasavu (Zari) Kara along with a 2-inch Kasavu (Zari) border, gracefully woven to create a refined golden sheen against the natural off-white cotton base. The Kara is further accentuated with traditional green and maroon temple lines, adding a subtle yet vibrant touch of colour while preserving the iconic Kerala aesthetic.
The overall Kara (front border) coverage measures approximately 6.5 inches, giving the attire a bold yet graceful traditional presence that enhances its elegance when draped.
Woven from premium handloom cotton, the fabric is lightweight, breathable, and exceptionally comfortable, making it an ideal choice for festivals, temple visits, weddings, cultural celebrations, and traditional ceremonies.
A timeless piece that reflects Kerala’s rich heritage, this elegant set mundu can be worn with grace by women anywhere in the world who appreciate authentic handloom craftsmanship and traditional Indian textiles.
